Westvleteren 8 est une bière brune aux arômes fruités variés : cerise, raisin sec, figue et même melon. Elle est brassée à la célèbre abbaye trappiste de Sint-Sixtus à Westvleteren et titre 8% d'alcool.
That fruity nose really does hit you—cherry and raisin up front, then a soft fig note as it warms. Poured one after dinner and the dark, malty body made it feel like dessert without being heavy. Wish I'd bought more than a couple bottles.
The dark pour alone is worth it—deep mahogany with that sweet, raisiny fig aroma hitting before the first sip. At under 10% ABV it's dangerously smooth, and the cherry note lingers just long enough to make you want another bottle.
