Dit is een gerookte porter met een hoog percentage gerookte mout en roggemout in de storting. Onze bekende Imperial Porter, 12 maanden gerijpt in een complexe mix van spiritusvaten, waaronder bourbon, rye, rum en cognac.
The bourbon barrel aging really shines through—twelve months in those casks adds a deep warmth that pairs perfectly with the smoke. I cracked one open after a chilly evening walk and it hit the spot completely. Already grabbed another few bottles.
The rye malt gives this porter a nice peppery bite underneath all that smoky depth, and the bourbon barrel influence really comes through warm and smooth. Twelve months of aging was worth it, this one drinks dangerously easy for an imperial.
That year-long rest in the mixed spirit barrels gives it a deep, layered warmth that hits right after the smoked malt and rye spice fade. Poured it for a friend who usually skips dark beers and even he went back for a second glass. Complex without being a sipping chore.
