Trappist Westvleteren 12 ist ein dunkles Bier mit einer sehr feinporigen weißen Schaumkrone. Herbe dunkle Früchte, Rosinen, Karamellsüße, wärmender Alkohol, Tabak und Leder. Gebraut wird es in der weltberühmten Trappistenabtei Sint-Sixtus in Westvleteren und hat einen Alkoholgehalt von 10,2 % Vol.
Dieses Bier wird als „das beste Bier der Welt“ bewertet.
