Como o nome sugere, o rum foi finalmente armazenado em barricas de cerveja usadas da popular cerveja Vanilla Shake da Mikkeller, cujas barricas exalam notas de baunilha, café e malte do tempo de armazenamento da cerveja. Anteriormente, o rum à base de melaço foi envelhecido em barricas de bourbon usadas no clima tropical da Guatemala.
