Phantom Spirits x Mikkeller – Beer Geek Vanilla Shake – グアテマラ 4年
バニラ、キャラメルチョコレートファッジ、焼き果実を思わせる香り。甘いバニラ、コニャックに漬け込んだレーズン、キャラメルチョコレートファッジを思わせる味わい。
その名の通り、このラム酒は最終的に、ミケラーの人気ビール「バニラシェイク」の使用済みビール樽で熟成されました。その樽からは、ビールの貯蔵期間中にバニラ、コーヒー、モルトの香りが染み出しています。それ以前は、糖蜜ベースのラム酒は、グアテマラの熱帯気候の中で、バーボン樽の使用済み樽で熟成されていました。
The vanilla hits you right at the pour, but it’s that cognac-soaked raisin finish that keeps me coming back for another sip. After four years in Guatemala, the caramel-chocolate fudge depth is unmistakably smooth.
I opened the bottle expecting just another barrel-aged stout, but that first pour hit me with real vanilla fudge and raisin depth. The 4-year aging makes it dangerously smooth — I sipped it neat and it was gone way too fast.
The 4-year aging really comes through — it’s smooth with a deep baked fruit note that lingers nicely after each sip. The cognac marinated raisins are the standout for me, adding a rich warmth that makes it feel like a dessert in a glass.
