Spontant i sin tilblivelse tilbød vores nabo og ciderproducent Æblerov os noget friskpresset pomace af japansk kvæde. Vi samlede straks et udvalg af fade fra vores kælder og lod øl og kvæde marinere i to måneder, før det blev tappet på flaske!
The tartness from the quince pomace cuts through the funky ale perfectly, and the 6% ABV keeps it dangerously easy to drink. I cracked one open after a long yard day and it was gone before I knew it. Going to need to grab another bottle or two soon.
The Japanese quince pomace really comes through—there's this tart, floral edge that lingers long after each sip. At 6% it's dangerously easy to drink, but the mixed fermentation gives it enough depth to feel special. Glad I grabbed a few bottles to share, though part of me wants to keep them all.
Opened it on a quiet Friday evening and the pour alone was worth it—that deep, hazy amber with a gentle fizz. The quince pomace shows up as a soft, tart fruitiness that plays beautifully against the 6% ABV, and it's honestly the most interesting beer I've had in months.
