Single hop IPA, the featured hop is strata. Strata hops are a relatively new variety of hop and are known for their tropical fruit flavors, with notes of mango, passionfruit, and grapefruit. They also have a distinctive dankness and a subtle herbal character. When used in a single hop beer, these flavors and aromas can really shine.
The mango and passionfruit really come through as it warms up, which makes it dangerously easy to crush. It’s got that thick, juicy mouthfeel I look for in a single hop IPA, and the bitterness is balanced just right.
The mango and passionfruit notes hit right up front, and it drinks way smoother than the 7% ABV suggests. I cracked one open after mowing the lawn and it was exactly the refreshing, juicy finish I needed.
That grapefruit bite on the finish really balances out the tropical sweetness, and the single hop profile makes it feel super clean and drinkable. Went through a four-pack in one sitting, no regrets.
