We made an IPA where the star of the show is the grain. This iteration is not only using some nice and spicy rye, but we’re also adding heritage spelt, and balancing it with citrusy hops: Citra, El Dorado & Cashmere.
The spelt adds this smooth, bready depth that I wasn’t expecting from an IPA, and the Citra hops keep it bright without stealing the show from the grain. This one’s worth grabbing for the balance alone.
The spicy rye hits right up front, then the Citra hops cut through with a bright citrus finish that balances everything out. I grabbed a six-pack on a whim and it’s already my go-to for game nights.
The spicy rye hits your nose right away, but the spelt smooths it out into something almost creamy on the finish. Citra and El Do keep it bright enough that the grain doesn't weigh it down — really well balanced for a 5-star sipper.
