Twelve months in brandy barrels did this barleywine a world of good—the boozy warmth hits first, then the orange peel and nutmeg creep in on the finish. I cracked one open after dinner and it drank more like a dessert than a beer. Wish I'd grabbed a second bottle.
The cardamom and orange peel come through beautifully against that 12-month brandy barrel warmth, and it drinks dangerously smooth for 11%+. I’m already wishing I’d grabbed two bottles instead of one.
