The dark rum plays out well on the pallet and nose along with fruity bitter and sweet notes. The complexity is not high but the taste is wide.
Taste like Københavnerstang, pineapple (2,5%), vanilla, passion fruit!
The vanilla and pineapple hit first, then the dark rum settles in underneath. Not a complicated drink, but the sweet-bitter balance is spot on and it goes down dangerously easy.
Opened this after dinner expecting something simple, but the dark rum really lingers nicely on the nose while the pineapple and vanilla keep it bright on the tongue. Not a complex sipper by any means, yet the balance of bitter and sweet makes it dangerously easy to finish a glass.
The pineapple and vanilla come through just enough to round out the rum without hiding it, and that bitter-sweet finish keeps every sip interesting. Poured it over a single big ice cube after dinner and it went down almost too easy.
