A beautiful Imperial Stout brewed where everything has been designed to be elegant, subtle and balanced. So you can feel the vanilla notes perfectly integrated with chocolate and lightly toasted aroma. A round, velvety mouthfeel that hides the alcohol very well for a surprisingly easy-to-drink Imperial Stout.
Pouring it, the color is nearly black and the toasted aroma hits before you even sip. The chocolate and vanilla are both there but neither shouts over the other, which is exactly what I wanted from an imperial stout.
The vanilla is so well integrated it doesn't fight the chocolate at all, just smooths it out into something dangerously sippable. Poured it for a friend who doesn't even like stouts and he finished the glass before I could.
The toasted aroma hits you right as you pour it, and it lingers beautifully without being heavy. The vanilla is subtle like they promised, weaving through the chocolate instead of overpowering it—exactly the balance I was hoping for.
