The coffee from Koppi cuts through the dark malt beautifully, and at 9.9% it’s dangerously smooth going down. I cracked one open after dinner and the finish lingered just long enough to make me reach for another.
That 9.9% hits harder than I expected, but the roasted coffee bitterness cuts the sweetness just right. Poured nearly black with a tan head that lingered for ages, exactly what I wanted from an imperial black IPA.
The coffee from Koppi really comes through in the aroma and the taste, adding a dark roast depth that balances the hop bitterness perfectly.
