Opened this after dinner expecting a typical milk stout, and the rum barrel aging hits you right away—boozy, sweet, and dangerously smooth. The chocolate and rum flavors blend into this decadent finish that somehow still stays balanced. My only regret is buying just one bottle.
The cacao note is dark and rich, but the rum-barrel warmth steals the show—hits like a dessert and a shot at the same time. I was skeptical about "Sparta and glory," but this stout definitely fights back on the finish.
The rhum barrel aging really comes through—that boozy warmth hits right after the chocolatey milk stout smoothness. It’s bold and dangerously easy to sip for something this strong. I’m already grabbing another bottle before the holidays end.
