Opened this on Christmas Eve and the two years in those barrels really shows—the toffee sweetness comes through with a warm bourbon kick that lingers nicely. The spices are there but don't overpower the dark fruit, which is exactly what I want from a Quad this time of year.
Opened this on Christmas Eve and the Pineau des Charentes barrels give it a lovely, almost honeyed edge that I wasn't expecting under all that dark fruit. Two years of aging really softened the booze into a gentle warmth that lasts through the whole glass. Already wishing I'd grabbed a second bottle
The bourbon barrel aging really comes through—that warm vanilla-caramel note wraps around the dark fruit like a blanket. I opened one on Christmas Eve and the spice blend made the whole room smell festive. Already bought two more bottles for next year.
