The haze is exactly what I want in a DIPA—thick enough to coat the glass but still drinks dangerously smooth for 8%+. That grassy bite from the Cascade Cryo really cuts through the fruity sweetness on the finish.
The hop combo here is a masterclass—that grassy bite from the Idaho 7 cuts right through the juicy haze, and the pine from the Cascade Cryo lingers just long enough. Cracked one open after mowing the lawn and it hit the spot perfectly.
I’m usually a haze-hunter, so when the hops are this tight and piney I get suspicious, but the Idaho 7 really shows with a juicy pop that lands clean. The mouthfeel is soft enough for a DIPA and it drinks way smoother than the 8% suggests. Just picked up a second four-pack to see if it holds up acro
